About the project
Payanam is an application for Tamil Nadu bus commuters who is facing issues with bus commutation during the pandemic.
Design
App was designed for government bus commuters. Main purpose of this application is to over come the fear of taking bus on pandemic situations.
Problem statement
Survey was taken with the bus commuters to know their concerns and complaints on travelling by bus during pandemic. Majority of them prefer not to travel in bus due to two main reason first being the fear of being in a crowd & second reason is the co-passenger’s ignorance in not using masks and maintaining the social distance.
Based on the article analysis, commuters are unhappy about bus crisis due to the rules on the limitation of passengers during the pandemic

Emotions identified in the pandemic seasons among bus commuters are
Fear - Fear about exposure to corona & crowds,
Frustration - Frustration about not getting the bus on time,
Tired - Tired of waiting for the bus
Solution
Payanam will make sure all commuters are wearing masks and maintain social distance by continuous scanning of the bus and updating it to the commuters through the app. Through payanam, commuters can track and see number of buses available in a particular bus stop.
Payanam will show complete seat structure of the bus, which will update the availability of seats to the commuters
User can track the bus to get the update about the reaching time.
And also they can use it to book their seats and reach on time to their destination. If there is lack of buses, user can raise a voice to the State Express Transport Corporation Bus to arrange a bus for the particular bus stop.
